Come join us on December 14th at the Grant Park Fire Protection District with Santa. He will be at the Firehouse from 1pm-4pm taking pictures with children and their families. Santa has also told us that Mrs. Claus is heading down from the North Pole as well to spend time at the Firehouse.

We will be serving Hot Cocoa and treats.

We will also be working in cooperation with Southside Meats and everyone that brings in a pound of non perishable food will be given a raffle ticket redeemable for a turkey at South Side Meats in Momence. The food will be turned over to be distributed to families in need over Christmas.

Skate this Way! - The Grove

The Rink is open during The Grove’s regular hours, 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Outside skates are welcome, and no ticket is required.

This season, the modified 30-foot by 50-foot rink debuts in its new home under the Robert Goselin Pavilion. Residents and visitors who need skates may purchase a $5 ticket—available online or in person—which includes one hour on the ice and skate rental. Skate rental hours will be offered every Saturday and Sunday in November and December from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. (weather permitting).

The City of Kankakee Christmas Parade is an annual event that takes place in downtown Kankakee. This year's parade is scheduled for December 13, 2025, starting at 4:30 PM. The parade route begins at the corner of N Schuyler Ave and E Oak St, heading south down Schuyler Ave, east on East River St, and ending at the Train Depot Fountain!
